I read a great article today in the online Wall Street Journal regarding neurobics and other such brain boosters. The article stated research now shows that people can generate new brain cells, and new connections between them, throughout life. And the more mental reserves people build up, experts believe, the better they can stave off age-related cognitive decline.

A few key factors involved in building up this mental reserve are mental and physical exercise, healthy eating and proper rest/sleep. On the other hand, stress, lack of sleep and certain medications can have adverse affects on our brains health and cause mental decline.
