One of the most important things when it comes to being successful online is mental toughness. There is no reason to not believe an online game can strengthen your brain. As far as tetris, I doubt it works out your brain nearly as much as other "brain teasers"

Cheers,

Nestor

I think that its possible for brain games to grow your brain. I mean the more you stimulate your brain the better it becomes. I enjoy playing online games, whether it be online rummy or a brain teaser.

Certainly online games can really provide a great work out for your brain cells. Keeping yourself actively learning different set of new skills are a great training regimen for the brain.

Those are interesting findings. I've heard of similar studies saying that kids who play video games have stunning hand-eye coordination. I think all these studies are true, yet the social interaction many kids lack because of their time spent gaming is more detrimental (in my opinion) than anything a game might be helping them with.
